Vintage NOS 1972 Seiko 6139-8010 Unworn Original Speed Timer Serviced JDM
Extraordinary new old stock, unworn Seiko 6139-8010 Speed Timer from October 1972, offered complete with its original factory hang tags and instruction booklet, an exceptionally rare find for one of Seiko’s most important chronographs. Preserved in truly remarkable condition, this example retains all of its original black factory finish, untouched and unpolished, presenting exactly as it did when it left Seiko in the late early 1970s.
The 6139-8010 holds a special place in horological history as part of the world’s first automatic chronograph family, powered by Seiko’s legendary calibre 6139. This technically advanced movement features a vertical clutch and column wheel, a specification that remains impressive even by modern standards. The clean, purposeful dial layout and bold black case finish give the Speed Timer its unmistakable presence and tool-watch character.
Despite its unworn status, the watch has just undergone a full professional service by us to ensure reliability and long term usability. The chronograph functions reset cleanly and operate correctly, and the day and date mechanisms perform as intended, including the quick-set date feature. Timekeeping is stable and strong following service.
