Vintage 1969 Grand Seiko Serviced Linen Dial Hand Winding 4520-7000 37mm

A$1,995.00Price

A stunning Grand Seiko 45GS produced in September 1969. The 45GS series was the second, and final, Grand Seiko line produced by Daini Seikosha and is widely regarded as one of the purest expressions of the Grand Seiko “Grammar of Design”. This particular example, the desirable no-date 4520-7000, has an incredibly clean and balanced appearance on the wrist.

This watch is presented in very honest original condition. The case shows signs of wear from age and use, but still retains its original brushed finishing and sharp factory lines. Importantly, the case has not been re-polished. The original case back medallion remains in excellent condition with much of its original frosting still visible.

The original linen dial is a standout feature of this watch and has aged beautifully over time, developing a warm honey tone that looks incredible in natural light. The applied Grand Seiko logos remain crisp and the dial overall presents extremely well with attractive vintage patina throughout.

The movement has just been serviced and is keeping very good time at approximately +/- 5 seconds per day. The hacking function operates exactly as it should.

The watch comes fitted on a Vintage Stelux bracelet, a highly regarded bracelet manufacturer famous for producing some of Seiko’s most desirable Vintage bracelets. It suits the watch exceptionally well and gives it a fantastic period-correct look on the wrist. 19.5cm laying flat (See Photo).

Mechanically, the watch is running smoothly and keeping excellent time, with the hacking function working exactly as they should. As is typical with Vintage Hi-Beat movements, it may require a gentle twist or shake to get started after a full power depletion, after which it runs consistently and accurately.

Please review the photos carefully, as they provide a clear representation of the watch’s condition and authenticity.

A Note on Vintage Watch Ownership

Vintage mechanical watches, while robust and reliable, are not as precise as modern quartz timepieces and may require periodic servicing. Some gentle wear and natural patina should be expected with an original watch of this age. Treated with care, it will continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.

At TEMPO PRIMA, we believe vintage watches should not be worn in water, regardless of their original specifications. We do not pressure-test vintage watches and therefore cannot guarantee water resistance. To preserve the longevity and integrity of these timepieces, we strongly recommend keeping them dry and avoiding any exposure to moisture.
