Vintage 1980 Seiko 7548-7000 JDM Quartz Diver Complete Box & Papers serviced

A$1,125.00Price

Offered here is an exceptional 1980 Seiko 7548-7000 Quartz Diver, originally sold for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM). More than forty-five years after leaving the Seiko factory, it remains a beautifully preserved and remarkably complete example of one of Seiko’s most iconic dive watches.

Introduced in 1978, the Seiko 7548 quickly established itself as one of the finest quartz divers ever produced. Combining exceptional accuracy, robust construction and legendary reliability, it has become one of the most sought-after vintage Seiko divers among collectors worldwide.

What makes this watch truly special is its completeness. Accompanying the watch are its original Seiko presentation box, original hang tag, instruction booklet and fully completed warranty booklet—a combination that is exceptionally difficult to find today.

The watch itself remains beautifully original. The dial has never been refinished and retains its original factory silk-screened luminous material, while the original hands remain fitted with their matching factory lume. The case has been exceptionally well cared for and presents beautifully, reflecting decades of careful ownership.

This watch has just undergone a complete professional service in our workshop, where the movement was fully dismantled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated and reassembled. All seals were replaced during the service to ensure many more years of reliable operation.

Following servicing, the movement was tested and regulated using our Seiko QT-99 Quartz Tester, achieving an outstanding average rate of +0.02 seconds per day. A photograph of the QT-99 test results is included within the listing, providing complete confidence in the watch’s performance.

Finding an original Seiko 7548-7000 has become increasingly difficult. Finding a Japanese Domestic Market example in this level of preservation, complete with its original box, hang tag, instructions and completed warranty booklet, is rarer still.

A Note on Vintage Watch Ownership

Vintage mechanical watches, while robust and reliable, are not as precise as modern quartz timepieces and may require periodic servicing. Some gentle wear and natural patina should be expected with an original watch of this age. Treated with care, it will continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.

At TEMPO PRIMA, we believe vintage watches should not be worn in water, regardless of their original specifications. We do not pressure-test vintage watches and therefore cannot guarantee water resistance. To preserve the longevity and integrity of these timepieces, we strongly recommend keeping them dry and avoiding any exposure to moisture.
