Vintage 1976 Seiko 6306-7000 Automatic Diver Fully Serviced Original

Introduced in 1976 exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, the Seiko 6306-7000 is regarded by many collectors as the ultimate evolution of Seiko’s classic cushion-case diver. Powered by the hacking 21 jewel Calibre 6306A, it was produced in far smaller numbers than its international counterpart, the 6309, making it one of the most desirable vintage Seiko divers ever produced. Combining exceptional reliability with unmistakable seventies design, the 6306 has become a cornerstone of many serious Seiko collections.
 
Offered here is an excellent example, manufactured in September 1976, and presented in beautifully preserved original condition. The stainless steel case retains its original factory finish with crisp transitions and honest signs of careful wear accumulated over the past five decades. Importantly, there is no evidence of heavy polishing or abuse, allowing the watch to retain the character and proportions intended by Seiko.
 
The matte black dial is completely original, retaining its original hands, lume, chapter ring and bezel insert. The lume has developed a warm cream patina that complements the watch beautifully, while the original bi-lingual Japanese/English day wheel remains crisp and functions exactly as intended. Completing the watch is a brand new genuine Seiko rubber diver’s strap, faithfully capturing the purposeful appearance of the original.
 
The movement has just undergone a comprehensive service and is running exceptionally well, with both the day and quick-set date operating perfectly. All seals were replaced during servicing. As with all vintage watches we sell, it has not been pressure tested and should therefore not be considered waterproof. We recommend avoiding water exposure to preserve its originality for future generations.
