Vintage 1971 King Seiko 5245-6010 Serviced Hi-Beat Matsuzakaya Presentation

A$1,195.00Price

Elegant, precise and beautifully understated, the King Seiko 5245-6010 is a wonderful example of Seiko’s pursuit of excellence during the golden age of Japanese watchmaking. Its sharp faceted case, refined silver sunburst dial and outstanding Hi-Beat movement make it one of the most desirable vintage King Seiko models.

Manufactured in March 1971, this watch has just been comprehensively serviced in house and is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

What makes this example especially unique is its original presentation engraving. Although manufactured in March 1971, it was presented by Matsuzakaya Department Store in 1972 as an award recognising 20 years of loyal service. Long service presentation watches from major Japanese companies are increasingly appreciated by collectors, as they preserve a genuine piece of the watch’s history and provide a tangible link to its original owner.

Powering the watch is Seiko’s renowned 25 jewel Calibre 5245A Hi-Beat automatic movement, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour for exceptional accuracy and a beautifully smooth sweep of the seconds hand.

The watch is fitted with a vintage stainless steel bracelet (19cm total length) whose brushed finish perfectly complements the original case, giving it a cohesive period-correct appearance.

As with every watch offered by TEMPO PRIMA, this King Seiko has been carefully serviced and sympathetically preserved, retaining the originality and character that make vintage watches so special. A refined and historically significant King Seiko, ready for its next chapter.

A Note on Vintage Watch Ownership

Vintage mechanical watches are robust and reliable, but they are not as accurate as modern quartz watches and require periodic servicing. Some signs of age and natural patina should be expected and are considered part of the character of an original vintage timepiece.

At TEMPO PRIMA, we believe original watches should be preserved rather than restored. We do not pressure-test vintage watches and therefore cannot guarantee water resistance, regardless of their original specifications. For their long-term preservation, we recommend keeping all vintage watches away from water and excessive moisture.
