Originality & Condition
We believe vintage watches are best appreciated for what they are, rather than being refinished to look new.
This Speed-Timer has been preserved in its original form, with its natural ageing and patina left intact. There has been no attempt to polish away the marks of its history or artificially restore the watch to a “like-new” appearance.
For collectors, these details are an important part of the character and provenance of an original vintage Seiko.
A Note on Vintage Watch Ownership
Vintage mechanical watches were built to be robust, but they are not expected to perform with the precision of a modern quartz watch. Even after servicing, some variation in timekeeping is normal, and periodic servicing will eventually be required.
Natural wear, ageing and patina should also be expected with an original watch of this age. We recommend treating vintage watches accordingly and avoiding unnecessary exposure to shocks, moisture and magnetism.
At TEMPO PRIMA, we do not recommend wearing vintage watches in water, regardless of their original specifications. We do not pressure-test vintage watches and therefore cannot guarantee water resistance. To help preserve the movement, dial and case over the long term, we strongly recommend keeping the watch dry and avoiding exposure to moisture.
