Vintage 1971 Seiko Baby Panda 6138-8000 JDM Serviced Original
Up for sale is a great example of the Seiko 6138-8000, affectionately known by collectors as the “Baby Panda.” Produced only in 1971 and 1972, this specific model was a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) release and is highly regarded for its cleaner dial layout and slightly smaller case (40mm) compared to its more common sibling, the 6138-8020 “Panda.”
This example is all original, including the beautiful dial, hands, and chrono sub-registers and has just been fully serviced, including all new seals. It’s fitted with a new old stock vintage Maruman bracelet from the 1970s, which is a collectible item in its own right and pairs perfectly with the watch’s proportions and period charm.
