Vintage 1969 King Seiko High Beat Serviced Hand Winding Wristwatch 4502-8000

This exceptional serviced King Seiko 4502-8000 was produced in November 1969. As the second and final King Seiko series produced by the Daini Seikosha factory, the 45KS stands as a pinnacle of Seiko’s mechanical precision and design philosophy during its golden era.
 
This reference adheres beautifully to Seiko’s celebrated Grammar of Design, with its sharp case angles, polished surfaces, and minimalist dial layout. The case remains unpolished, showing light signs of wear while retaining its factory edges and original finish. The case back is particularly well preserved, featuring a crisp gold medallion and clean engravings.
 
The original linen dial is among the best we’ve encountered on this model, the surface is clean, with sharp printing and beautiful indices. Both the applied Seiko and KS logos remain intact, and the hands and markers show light, even patina consistent with age.
 
Mechanically, the watch is running smoothly and keeping excellent time, with the hacking function and quick set date working exactly as they should. It has just been serviced by us and is performing reliably. As is typical with Vintage Hi-Beat movements, it may require a gentle twist or shake to get started after a full power depletion, after which it runs consistently and accurately.
 It is fitted with a brand new 19mm leather strap. Please note that the seals are original and have not been replaced, so the watch is not guaranteed to be water-resistant.
