Vintage 1968 Seiko Diver "Slim Case" 6105-8000 With Box Original Serviced
A superb and entirely original Seiko 6105 "Slim Case" diver from April 1968, one of the earliest executions of Seiko’s most iconic military-era tool watch. The 6105 earned its reputation in the field during the Vietnam War, where U.S. servicemen relied on it for its uncompromising build quality, reliability, and ability to survive extreme heat, humidity, and constant exposure to the elements. Early examples like this one, preserved in honest and exceptional condition, have become increasingly difficult to source.
Just serviced, including all new seals to the case back, crystal, and crown this example is running beautifully and remains in remarkable condition with only light, honest signs of wear. It also comes with an original Seiko 6105 presentation box, a rare and highly collectible addition seldom seen with these watches.
Collectors will immediately appreciate the presence of every factory original component, including the sought-after horseshoe case back, original bezel and long sweep seconds hand, details that define the earliest production 6105 models. A new Uncle Straps 19mm waffle strap has been fitted for period correct look.
The case retains its untouched factory finish, free from any re-polishing and with a beautiful sharp edge. The dial and hands feature entirely original lume that has aged gracefully and remains in excellent condition, something that continues to set the true survivors apart from restored or relumed examples. A new crystal has been installed for clarity, with the original crystal included for provenance. The quick-set date operates flawlessly, as stated the watch has just undergone a full service, with fresh seals.
