Vintage 1965 Seiko 6217-8000 Serviced 62MAS Rare JDM Divers Watch All Original

AU$6,950.00Price

The Seiko 62MAS, released in 1965, marked Seiko’s very first professional dive watch and was the brand’s official entry into the world of dive timepieces. With its clean, functional design, superb legibility, and distinctive case without crown guards, the 62MAS laid the foundation for every Seiko diver that followed.

The example offered here is exceptionally rare and historically significant. It was manufactured in April 1965, making it one of the earliest 62MAS watches ever produced, and is stamped with serial number 5400492, the 492nd Seiko dive watch ever made. these early Watches belong to the ultra rare “small crown” variant, which was only produced for two months: April and May 1965, before Seiko transitioned to the larger crown used for the rest of the production run.

For collectors of vintage Seiko or historic tool watches, this is a once in a lifetime piece, and a true “grail” by any measure.

A Note on Vintage Watches:

Vintage mechanical watches require care and occasional servicing. Timekeeping may not be as precise as a modern quartz watch, and signs of wear and patina are expected with age. While this watch has been serviced, it has not been pressure tested and is not water-resistant.

Please study the photos and video closely—they form part of the description and show the watch in detail.

This is a truly exceptional example of Seiko’s first dive watch, a rare early production 62MAS that holds a key place in horological history.

Wear it in good health—and with pride.
