Vintage 1958 Omega Seamaster Automatic Ref. 2846 Calibre 501 Serviced

A$1,995.00Price

Introduced during the golden era of Swiss watchmaking, the Omega Seamaster Ref. 2846.10.SC embodies the understated elegance and exceptional craftsmanship that established Omega as one of the world’s foremost watch manufacturers. Produced in 1958 and powered by the renowned Calibre 501 automatic movement, this reference belongs to Omega’s celebrated 500 series, a family of movements revered for their engineering excellence, reliability and enduring performance. With its beautifully proportioned stainless steel case and striking radial-brushed dial, the Ref. 2846 remains one of the most desirable vintage Seamasters of the late 1950s.

Offered here is a beautiful example, manufactured in 1958, and presented in remarkably original condition. The stainless steel case retains its original factory finish with honest signs of careful wear accumulated over nearly seven decades. Importantly, there is no evidence of heavy polishing or abuse, preserving the character and proportions intended by Omega.

The highlight of this watch is undoubtedly its original silver radial brushed dial, which catches the light beautifully and has developed an elegant patina over time. The dial remains completely original, complemented by its original applied hour markers, dauphine hands and Original signed Omega crown, creating the timeless aesthetic that has made these early Seamasters so highly regarded among collectors.

At its heart is the legendary Omega Calibre 501, a 19 jewel automatic movement celebrated for its smooth winding, robust construction and outstanding reliability. The movement has just undergone a comprehensive service and is running exceptionally well, ensuring it is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Completing the watch is a new vintage black leather strap, fitted with the watches original Omega pin buckle featuring the applied Omega logo.

Elegant, understated and increasingly difficult to source in such honest original condition, this 1958 Seamaster represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of Omega’s finest post-war dress watches. Whether added to a discerning collection or worn as a daily companion, it remains a timeless example of classic Swiss watchmaking.
