Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic Solid 9ct Gold Automatic 17 Jewels Circa 1977

A$2,495.00Price

There is a certain elegance to a well proportioned vintage solid Gold dress watch. No unnecessary decoration, no excessive detailing, just considered design, quality materials and the quiet confidence of traditional Swiss watchmaking.

This gentleman’s Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic is a fine example.

Dating to approximately 1977, the watch features a beautifully restrained silver sunburst dial, complemented by applied gold baton hour markers and matching gold hands. A neatly framed date aperture at three o’clock provides a practical detail without interrupting the balance of the dial.

The watch is housed in a solid 9ct gold case, including the caseback. Measuring 35mm in diameter, its proportions are particularly well judged, offering a refined presence on the wrist without feeling oversized.

Inside is a Girard-Perregaux automatic movement, featuring 17 jewels and the manufacturer’s Gyromatic winding system. A product of an era when traditional Swiss manufacturers placed considerable emphasis on mechanical quality and refinement, it represents a particularly appealing period in Girard-Perregaux’s history.

As with every watch offered by TEMPO PRIMA, this Girard-Perregaux has received careful attention to its mechanical condition.

The movement has been dismantled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated and reassembled as part of our servicing process. It has subsequently been tested to assess its timekeeping performance.

We believe in preserving vintage watches rather than unnecessarily refinishing them. The character of an original watch, including the subtle signs of age accumulated over decades, is part of its appeal.

Elegant, mechanically interesting and crafted in 9ct gold, this Girard-Perregaux offers an opportunity to own a quality vintage Swiss automatic from a particularly appealing period.

We do not pressure-test vintage watches and therefore cannot guarantee water resistance, regardless of their original specifications. For their long-term preservation, we recommend keeping all vintage watches away from water and excessive moisture.
